America's Cup

In 2011, Cascais received the America's Cup World Series, the first stage of the most important sailing circuit worldwide.

The Portuguese stage was in a location that is considered one of the best places for boat races in the world and marked the debut of the AC45 boats, considered the Formula 1 of sailing as they can reach 60km/h.
This event is broadcast on numerous channels around the world and, for the first time in the history of sports, was streamed live on the web accessible by about 60 million people.
Silvestre Festas raised the structures supporting the teams and boats, as well as the VIP areas to receive the event’s most distinguished guests and speakers.
